Which Alstom pension scheme am I in?

Alstom operates two pension schemes for its employees in the UK:

  • The ALSTOM Ltd Group Personal Pension (GPP) Plan with Aviva.

  • The Alstom Pension Scheme (APS) which is a defined benefit (final salary) arrangement.
The APS contains the following benefit sections - 2006 Section, Main Section, ABB, Babcock, Cegelec,
Electric Sections, Retirement Capital Plan (RCP) and the Additional Savings Plan (ASP).

If you are not sure which of these two schemes you are in, there are ways to tell:

    - if you joined Alstom's employment after 5 April 2006 you can only be in the ALSTOM Ltd GPP
    - if you left Alstom's employment before 6 April 2006 you can only be in the Alstom Pension Scheme

    - if you are a current contributing member, check the contributions figure on your payslip (if you participate in salary sacrifice for pension contributions, this figure will appear under the Payments section, otherwise it will appear under the Deductions section). If the text next to the contributions figure contains 'DB' then you are in the Alstom Pension Scheme. If the text contains 'AGPP' then you are in the ALSTOM Ltd GPP

    - if you are receiving an Alstom pension that is paid by JLT Employee Benefits (formerly MNPA and then Ensign Pensions), you are a member of the Alstom Pension Scheme

If you are still not sure which scheme you are in, please check the paperwork you have previously received, or call the Alstom Pensions team on 01788 557402 or 557403.
